The Race Mom Missed

Well, while I was in DC for meetings over a two week period, the girls had their 2nd cross country running race on August 23. (And I guess instead of cleaning house, paying bills, catching up on work or getting back into everyday life, I am procrastinating by catching up on my blog.)

NORTH POLE — A school record, a team upset and a missed turn — Friday’s All Schools cross country meet featured all three on a gloriously sunny day in North Pole..................


North Pole and West Valley may have claimed the top two individual spots, but the Lathrop girls grabbed the team win by placing five runners in the top 10. Senior Heather Edic (20:18), freshman Sydney Stone (21:13) and freshman Megan Edic (21:33) took third, fourth and fifth, respectively. The Malemutes scored 31 points to West Valley’s 34. North Pole (74) and Eielson (102) rounded out the team scoring. “As long as I’ve been coaching, for eight years, (West Valley’s) never been beat (in the Interior),” Lathrop assistant coach Chad Carroll said................
